| Central Africana as a Publisher |
For the past 20 years Central Africana has produced a regular stream of titles, new and re-issued, covering primarily the history and development of Malawi but latterly concentrating on the country's multi-faceted tourism appeals.
The most recent of these has been Malawi, the Warm Heart of Africa which has, late 2006, been reissued, in a new international edition, for worldwide distribution by Struik, the Cape Town publishers of general non-fiction on African themes.

“The author of this title is Sandy Ferrar who has been best known for her regular electronic newsletters, usually on African wildlife and conservation themes. Her writing is now in book form for the first time and her collaboration with Frank John ston, Malawi's best known photographer, now means a double feast for readers. Sandy 's textured word pictures, filled with light and colour, make her work deeply evocative. Her lightness of touch and barely suppressed humour add delight. Frank John ston's photographs have been seen in Malawi and around the world for three decades and his first book, Malawi Lake of Stars became a best-selling classic on the great Lake . Here in a wider ranging coverage of his adopted country he joins Sandy to introduce visual pleasure and to bring the many moods of Malawi to life. Malawi, the Warm Heart of Africa celebrates this cooperation in a sensual and memorable interplay of text and photography”.
